They have been awarded the “Best Pizza in Manatee County” by the People’s Choice of the Bradenton Herald four years in a row and this year “Best Italian Restaurant!” A recent expansion enabled Owners Danny and Joan Fernandes to add 50 seats to their popular restaurant and they have been filling them everyday. A huge seller is their Rice Balls, which is ground beef, peas, Mozzarella wrapped in rice, breaded and fried. This is served on weekends only.
Danny and Joan have been in the business for over 30 years with two stores in Putnam/Westchester County, NY. After a few small adjustments with the yeast and our Florida humidity, Danny’s has been very happy with his pizza, particularly the crust. Believe me when he says everything is freshly made because I was talking with him at 9:30AM one day while he was making the dough fresh for the day’s pizza and calzones. In addition they are complying with COVID rules and limiting seating indoors and sanitizing frequently. There is an expanded bar and plenty of outdoor seating as well here. Brand new pizza ovens are in place which are more efficient. They have expanded their delivery service in-house and customers can order online on the new ‘Hunger Rush’ link on their website, www.dannyspizzaflorida.com. Entertaining? If so, they also do many of their items as trays to go for any catering events you might have.
