and Nicole Praessel. At both restaurants the outdoor dining areas are spacious and very accommodating so no problem with social distanc- ing here. Same inside with proper spacing between tables. Nice to see that business has been very good at both locations, well deserved!
Their concept at the Sage Biscuit Café is serving fresh food, using local ingredients whenever possible and their creativity to distin- guish themselves from the competition. They offer a variety of different dining options such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and indulgent options including gluten-free French toast and pancakes and gluten-free bread as an option for toast or substituted on any of their sandwiches, as well as regular bread.
At both locations enjoy their beer and wine offerings (a nice selection of your faves), including mimosas or a special Sake Bloody Mary awaiting if you wish. They offer a lot of vegetarian items including homemade Veggie Burgers. The vegan favorites are the Tofu Scramble, Black Bean Soup, Southwestern Skillet and Dan's Golden Bowl. For the more indulgent diner, Sage Biscuit Café offers a selection of Benedicts with "real homemade Hollandaise," and of course sage biscuits with sausage gravy.
You can tell that they have a passion for food and every dish is prepared with pride and respect for the products used. They serve breakfast and lunch everyday. It’s been busy from the day they opened, showing that the Sage Biscuit Café is doing their best to fulfill their cus- tomers dietary wants, needs and wishes. Call them about any catering and to go items as well and visit their website at www.sagebiscuit- bradenton.com.

With an extensive background in the hospitality business, they opened their first restaurant – Isola Bella Italian Eatery in Holmes Beach at 5904 Marina Drive (941-242-5309) – about three years ago after falling in love with the location. Their tra- ditional and authentic Italian food has been pleasing the palate of both residents and tourists and this year Isola Bella has been awarded “Travelers’ Choice 2020” by TripAdvisor for being in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide! Terrific! In February 2020, they opened a sec- ond restaurant on Longboat Key – La Norma, located at 5370 Gulf of Mexico Drive (941-383-6262) – where they also added Italian-style pizza to their traditional menu. They are also about to open a new Italian take-out and corner shop in the same location which should be ready by December.
The family story begins in Sicily at the foothills of Mount Etna, the ever-active volcano that lights up the night sky with its red, scary, majestic beauty. This is where the Santagatis comes from: the very center of the Mediterranean Sea, full of blinding sunlight, continu- ous breezes bringing unique scents and aromas from the past. And this is what they try and bring to your table nightly for dinner. The old family recipes, the deep knowledge of their tradition, the thorough search for the best ingredients and the ability to combine them together with their
