changed hands in 2018. When Krohngold opened the first Nancy’s in 2011, it was an imme- diate hit, generating long lines of eager customers even before the soft opening turned into a real opening.
In the years since, Nancy has expanded to Lakewood Ranch with a new restaurant. Nancy says, “I was blessed with a wonderful 10- year run with the downtown store. There are so many memories I cher- ishfromthatdecade: AtleasttwocouplesIknowaboutgotengaged at the store. Local families were regulars - they loved the "come-as-you- are" atmosphere, and I watched their kids grow from infants and tod- dlers to teenagers - some even came to work for us!
The new store in LWR, at the intersection of SR 70 (4 mi east of the Interstate) and Lorraine Road - with a new Publix now open across the newly-widened Lorraine Road from them - is located at ground zero for LWR's expansion, which continues unabated during the pandemic. "The Ranch remains the number one fasting growing multi-generational community in the U.S. and home sales are 25% ahead of last year," says Nancy, “so it's a good location for me in these tough times. And everyone from the downtown store who wanted to stay with us is working at the Lakewood Ranch store!” They have a full bar,w/HappyHour11AM-7PMMon-Fri; livemusiconourpatio Fridays and Saturdays 6PM-9PM, plus Stretch-N-Frinz's Sunday Acoustic Jam on the patio 3PM-7PM on alternating Sundays.
Nancy’s Bar-B-Q offers the same menu they served down- town, plus appetizers including Whole Jumbo Smoked Wings, Smoked Fish Dip, a Smoked meat or Portobello Mushroom Quesadilla and more. Nancy says,”We have the same casual, family-friendly vibe that resonated with our fans downtown ... with more seating, much better air conditioning ... and servers to take your order at your table at din- nertime, to make the experience even more relaxing. Their seating remains socially distanced inside and outside, and all staff wear masks.
