"I started Nancy's with catering and my stealth roadside pop- ups in 2004, five years before the brick-and-mortar store opened down- town in early 2011," Nancy reminds us, "and over the years the busi- ness grew into the leading independent BBQ caterer on the suncoast, but as with every other caterer, bookings for events cratered with the advent of COVID. It's been an easy pivot for us to assemble and deliver BBQ box lunches or dinners for socially distanced corporate events, schools and athletic teams, hospitals, churches and nonprofits -- they range from groups of 20 or 25 to 500-person events. And many folks are staging private events outside now, or poolside in their homes or clubhouse, where we deliver food for self-serve buffets. We're adapting to meet the comfort level of our clientele. We also now offer Family "Dinner Crates" - some might remember that descriptor from my earli- est catering days - that we assemble to order with an hour's notice. The "Crate" (actually a large carton) is offered for pick up from 2PM Mon- Fri and all day Saturday and Sunday. They're all-inclusive and a tremen- dous value, featuring one or more smoked meats, side dishes, a bottle of our BBQ sauce, Martin's Slider Rolls, a jug of Sweet Tea and home- made Brownies.” She has got it all going!
